The statement "Children are the future of the nation" stops making sense, then! In fact, it sounds like pseudo prophecy.

India is a country of contrasts! The country has as many as 53 billionaires; the fourth highest in the world. But the same country has over 3 million children living on the streets.

Aur Ek Prayaas NGO that the desired changes in the lives of such children will come only when more and more privileged people start participating proactively in finding a solution. The NGO also believes that the only way to ensure a better future for these children is by educating them.

That is because education is both the means as well as the end; it empowers these children and evolves them as better citizens

Under education, the NGO strives to promote and catalyz education among children from underprivileged section of society. The aim being that education should lead to change not only in the amount of knowledge gained but also in the abilities to do, to think and to acquire habits, skills and attitude which characterize an individual who is socially accepted and adjusted. We Aur Ek Prayaas believe that Quality Education is the key to overcoming poverty in a single generation. And it is also fundamental in creating a future for human security, community development and national progress. It is an enormous challenge as well as an immense opportunity!

Our Vision and Mission

• Aur Ek Prayaas emphasizes the fact that helping is not simply a matter of dispersing money but of making a deep, long-term commitment and casting a hard eye on results. With this model, the Foundation partners with emerging and committed organizations for various programs.

• It tries to build their capacity, training them to gradually sustain and scale up themselves and their activities. It initially offers them the opportunity to reach their potential and progressively scale up and bear the entire weight themselves.

• The entire management and operation of Aur Ek Prayaas NGO is in compliance with the principles of sustainability, scalability, accountability, transparency, credibility and effective leadership.

• To directly improve the lives of ‘girl child’ labors, H.I.V positive and destitute children; enabling them to become beacons of light and share the same gifts of peace, goodwill, and generosity with others for the rest of their lifetimes.

There are 927 girls for every 1,000 boys under the age of 6. And most of these 927 girls are taken out of school early so that they can help in the fields or work as child labour to support the family. Isn’t it time that we put an end to this barbaric discrimination and gave girls a chance to achieve their full potential? 

Be the agents of hope for these girl children. Be the strength to give them better lives and eventually to build a better nation.
